The Story

One of the many reasons I love photographing the city in foul weather is that the conditions are often changing so fast that “blink-and-you’ll-miss-them” moments are fairly easy to come by… as long as you’re actually there and you don’t, you know, blink.

Shot two days after “If The Light Takes Us”, the conditions for this image couldn’t have been more different. Also unlike that image, this one was completely unscripted and unplanned. As much as I love to conceive and develop ideas for what could be, it’s also amazing what can happen if you just get yourself out the door, even if there’s no plan at all.

“Sky Falls, You Feel Like…” serves as a the perfect companion piece to “If The Light Takes Us”. Not just in the dichotomy between the conditions, but in the approach as well. And it was still a “blink-and-you’ll-miss-it” moment. After all, it was a beautiful day.

Limited Edition

All limited edition prints are signed by the artist and include a Certificate of Authenticity.

No further prints will be made. Prices may increase as a series approaches the end of its run.

The photographer reserves the right to reproduce this image in collections, such as books, and in media about the work.

The Process

My prints are produced with the highest standards in mind. Rather than using traditional photo papers (such as Kodak Endura and Fujicolor Crystal) I’ve opted for premium papers from Hahnemühle and Canson. These fine art papers are Acid Free, contain no OBAs, and are typically 300gsm and higher. Over 20 papers, across 7 different manufacturers, were tested in order to find a select few to work with. Each image is custom-matched to a specific paper in order to produce prints with amazing detail, color, and depth.

All prints are made in-house using genuine archival pigment inks.

• Small and Medium prints are packaged in a black presentation box. Large prints are (loosely) rolled into a wide shipping tube.

• When purchasing a frame with the print (see below), the presentation box / shipping tube is not included. There is a 20% discount on frames when ordered with a print.

Framing and Mounting

Image sizes are the measurements listed above. The total paper size will be 1-inch larger (both width and height) to accommodate a half-inch border on each side. This size difference will only be relevant when framing without a mat, which is not recommended.

Matting/Framing/Mounting is not included in the price of the print; however, you may choose to add professional framing services by selecting the “Mounting And Framing” category at the top of the page. All mounting and framing is done professionally by The Frame Room in Fells Point. There is a 20% discount on frames when ordered with a print.

Whether or not you choose to include a frame at the time of purchase, I highly recommend seeking out a professional framing service. The quality of frames, and especially glass, can vary greatly when purchased retail. Also, care should be taken not to use any mounting materials that may compromise the archival nature of the paper and ink.
